“Food no longer controls me. I’m happier and healthier than ever!” When Patti G. started her weight loss/health coaching program, she had recently tipped the scale over 200 pounds. She was unhappy with her body, the way her clothes fit and generally how she felt. After shedding years of tears in frustration, she got focused on building a best self-vision of being 70 pounds lighter, active and in-balance both physically and emotionally.

Simply put, Patti wanted to eliminate her stress about her health and size. In her first coaching session, she identified issues that regularly got in her way for maintaining a healthy weight:

· Frequent meals out with her husband that included oversized portions

· Regularly eating in the afternoon to quell her stress

· Cravings for sugar that controlled her

With guidance, she began to breakdown her habits to be able to make measurable and achievable shifts in her awareness and choices. Patti started her journey to better health by tackling her emotional eating habits. She went from nearly daily out-of-control snacking on chocolate almonds to rationing them so she could enjoy them and not feel deprived. This is an excellent strategy, because research tells us that after the first few bites of something, our taste buds experience diminishing returns. Over time, she successfully eliminated the habit with intention and determination. Patti learned to plan ahead for meals away from home and control her portion sizes. The daily exercise habit she built to manage her stress became a positive force in her drive to shed pounds.

Within three months, after consistently losing two pounds per week, Patti reached her short-term goal of losing 24 pounds. Patti shares, “Even on vacation, I maintain my healthy habits. I’ve made such a huge and positive shift about my health and self-care routines. I’ll never go back to the old me.” Today, she’s 45 pounds lighter and “feels like a new woman.” She continues to successfully progress toward reaching her 70-pound weight loss goal.
